Quizás muchos de ustedes (usuarios de computadores con Windows) no conocen Sparrow, pues los que tenemos computadores Apple sí, y esta es considerada por muchos, tal ves la gran mayoría, como la mejor aplicación de correo para OSX. Pues la noticia del día es que el gigante Google, adquirió Sparrow y de inmediato pasaron a ser parte del equipo de GMAIL. Las declaraciones del CEO de Sparrow tras el salto.

We care a lot about how people communicate, and we did our best to provide you with the most intuitive and pleasurable mailing experience.

Now we’re joining the Gmail team to accomplish a bigger vision — one that we think we can better achieve with Google.

We’d like to extend a special thanks to all of our users who have supported us, advised us, given us priceless feedback and allowed us to build a better mail application. While we’ll be working on new things at Google, we will continue to make Sparrow available and provide support for our users.

We had an amazing ride and can’t thank you enough.

Sin duda, una buena jugada por parte de Google, ya que Sparrow es ampliamente superior a Mail, la aplicación de correo nativa de OSX. Claramente ninguna de las 2 posee las características de Outlook, pero esta es una buena alternativa, y lo mejor de todo, Simple.
